How to pull off business casual

Do you like to dress casually for the office? Looking smart and well-groomed is still important. Although startup culture is influential, you don’t want to look like a student. Here are some ideas on putting together a successful business wardrobe with a relaxed style.

Trousers

You can be flexible with trousers in a relaxed office, but for your basics, stick to khakis or chinos. For more texture, corduroy or wool trousers come in a wide variety of colours and styles. The colour of your trousers should be entirely different from the hue of your blazer.

Collared shirts

If you don’t wear a tie, you probably rely on a buttoned-up shirt. Pair this with a sport coat or wear it underneath a cashmere or merino jumper. For an extra masculine look, unbutton the top buttons while keeping the shirt tucked in. You could play with patterned and printed shirts for a dash of individual style.

Smart Farah shirts are perfect for business casual wear. They are available from retailers including https://www.ejmenswear.com/men/farah/.

You can get away with T-shirts in a casual office setting provided you keep them straightforward: plain shirts with a simple pattern and a slim fit win out. If hoodies are the order of the day, try to stand out.

Belts

A belt can add the magic touch that brings your outfit together. Match the colour of your belt to the colour of your shoes for casual settings, and make sure your shoes are well-polished if you are wearing a glossy belt.

Jeans

In less formal settings, denim is often a staple. You can look professional with dark-wash, fitted jeans with a tapered or straight leg. These go perfectly with jumpers, button-up shirts and relaxed footwear. Ripped jeans are off the agenda, however.

Business Insider recently looked at what business casual really means.

Shoes

Looks in the casual office are flexible. You can stand out with an Oxford, Derby or loafer. Smart polished leather boots are versatile and work for both an important meeting and a date. Desert boots with rubber soles are also acceptable.

Any trainers worn to the office should be clean and stylish. Opt for a simple slip-on or old-fashioned style, such as Vans. Stay away from flip flops and sweatpants; bare toes in the office are a no-no.…

There are apps for everything these days, so it makes sense that apps to help you save money are available. Some apps, such as Money Dashboard, allow you to keep track of your spending with categories detailing how you spend your money. Others, such as Chip and Plum, analyse your income and outgoings to see how much you can afford to save each month. They will then take this out of your account in small amounts and place it into a separate savings account for you.

Cashback sites such as TopCashback and Quidco are also helpful in saving. You are rewarded by using their app before being directed to the retailer to make your purchase. Although you might only earn small amounts, regular use of these apps allows your cashback amount to add up quickly.

Alternative methods

The saving shouldn’t stop once you have reached your target, however. Although it may seem easier to walk into a store to buy diamond engagement rings, it might also be a more expensive option. Therefore, you should always shop around. The Art of Keeping Time

Such a simple looking piece of machinery, the wristwatch. They are so common that nearly everyone has owned at least one or two in their lifetime. In an era where many people look to their cell phones or smart watches to keep time, some may not stop to consider the long and intricate history of the ordinary wristwatch or the innovative people and companies that have made watches what they are today.

The first wristwatch was created by a Swiss watchmaker named Patek Philippe in 1868. He created this wristwatch for a Hungarian Countess, causing wristwatches to become quite the fashion accessory for women of that time. This useful accessory did not gain popularity with men until closer to World War I. Although, there was some earlier use in the German Imperial Navy when it was discovered that executed timely military action was much easier when one did not have to dig around for and open a pocket watch. Though not the first design, the earliest well-known wristwatch was the Tank, created in 1917 by Louis Cartier. The classic square design of the Tank was inspired by the Renault tanks that Cartier saw during his time as a soldier.

Artistic Accessories

Since the creation of the iconic Tank, wristwatches have come in many different forms and designs. From the almost strictly utilitarian to the ornate and fashionable, there is a design to fit every lifestyle. Early forms usually had bands that were made of leather or gold, depending on the functionality of the timepiece, but in 1976 an Italian watchmaker named Carlo Crocco decided to create a somewhat different type of watch. Leaving his family business to strike out on his own, Crocco spent 3 years testing and designing what would be the first natural rubber watch band. Crocco’s original business idea was to combine the design of Italian watchmaking with the solid craftsmanship of Swiss watchmaking, creating an artistic fusion to which he added his own twist of the black rubber watch band. He eventually established Hublot, a luxury watch manufacturer now owned by LVMH.

Hublot is known for sleek, unique designs that still maintain solid Swiss workmanship. They have sponsored many organizations, such as Manchester United, FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro, and Formula One, to name a few. They are even the Official Timekeepers for Farrari. For many of these sponsorships, Hublot has created new designs to commemorate the occasion, such as the Hublot F1 King Power Austin, created to commemorate the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas in 2012. Hublot has also collaborated with contemporary artists to keep their designs new and interesting, such as their recent collaboration with North Carolina based artist Shepard Fairey. Hublot is consistently proving that mechanical wristwatches are not a thing of the past, but an artistic accessory that will continue to evolve. Some of the beautiful Hublot designs can be found on https://www.watchshopping.com/hublot/.

Beautiful Punctuality

The humble wristwatch may seem somewhat archaic; with the advent of the multifunctional smartwatch, some may think that a watch that only tells the time is not worth taking notice of, but they would be wrong. Wristwatches have evolved a lot over the last century and yet they still retain much of their classic purpose and design. No matter which manufacturer one chooses, from Cartier to Hublot, owning one of these wrist-sized works of art is much more than owning a timepiece, it is a statement. A statement of fashion and of class. A statement of enjoying the finer things in life. There is no reason one should have to choose functionality over fashion and, thanks to companies like Hublot, no one has to.

What You Need to Know About the Arm Lift Procedure

The formal name for an arm lift is a brachioplasty. This plastic surgery procedure is designed to contour and reshape the upper arm. Generally, this procedure is recommended to correct the undesirable issue of loose skin under the arm. Sometimes arm lifts are done at the same time as liposuction. Liposuction removes excess fat while an arm lift tightens loose skin. While exercise helps to tighten the arms, surgery is sometimes required to further contour the skin to the muscles for a desirable look.

Who is a Good Candidate For an Arm Lift?

Generally, people who have lost a lot of weight and are experiencing loose skin elect the arm lift procedure. Additionally, as people age, the skin loses its elasticity and removing the loose drooping skin under the arm is not uncommon. It is recommended that recipient achieve a stable and relatively healthy weight before undergoing the procedure. It is also important that recipients be non-smokers without any significant health issues such as diabetes that would negatively influence the healing process

How does The Procedure Work?

Generally, an arm lift is a fairly straightforward procedure that surgically removes pockets of fat and loose skin under the upper arm. The remaining skin is then repositioned in place for a desirable look. The surgery involves removal of skin with an incision from the armpit to the elbow, but in some cases, the incision can extend further. For more minor procedures a single incision under the armpit may be all that is required. The arm lift procedure can occur in an outpatient facility

What to Expect After the Procedure

Since the arm lift surgery removes excess skin from the armpit to the elbow, recipients of the procedure can expect to scar along the inside of the arm. Patients should discuss all surgery risks and expectations with the surgeon prior to the procedure. A thorough health screening before the surgery will help determine which patients are good candidates who can expect optimal healing and recovery. The procedure only takes a few hours at most, and patients can expect to go home without an overnight stay.

What to Look for When Finding a Surgeon

Finding a reliable, experienced, and the qualified plastic surgeon is important to ensure desirable results. Any plastic surgeon should be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This certification ensures the plastic surgeon is experienced, qualified, and can perform the procedure safely. Take time to consult with the surgeon on their experience in new technology and techniques and look at the results of their past work. Each surgeon has their specialties, and it is helpful to choose one who is very practiced in the arm lift procedure. Find some options nearby by typing “arm lift procedure Hilliard OH” in your preferred web browser.

Final Thoughts

Like any surgical procedures, the benefits of an arm lift should be seriously weighed against possible negatives such as scarring, potential issues with healing, and the general risks of anesthesia and surgery. However, the surgical procedure of an arm lift can accomplish physical results that exercise alone cannot. The personal and psychological benefits of a positive physical change bring enough value to outweigh the risk for any potential recipient of the procedure.

Using Fashion to Advertise to the World

“Brand Awareness” is probably a word we’ve all heard at least once or twice. More and more each year companies are paying top dollar to make sure that their brand is getting as much attention as possible. Even more so now that social media is such a huge driving force in most marketing strategies. However, what did we do before social media? When there was a cause or charity that we cared about, how did we make it known?

Well, obviously there are traditional methods such as flyers, television and radio ads, etc… However, what other creative or out of the box methods were used? Customizable jewelry and accessories seemed to be the answer to the latter. In the late 90’s I’m sure we all recall the appearance of the cloth bracelets with the over-whelming popular phrase “W.W.J.D.” etched onto them. Just about everyone during that time could have been spotted wearing one of those trendy bracelets.

In the early to mid-2000s, the silicone bracelet appeared. The bracelets were created to bring awareness to various events, charities, social causes and more. These bracelets or wristbands have also been called “awareness bracelets.” Around the late 2000s, the silicone wristbands became increasingly popular with concerts and sporting events. (Wikipedia) It seems as though these wristbands made a perfect keepsake for nostalgic concert goers and avid sports fans.

Even now the silicone wristband is still around and quite prevalent. However, now people have begun taking a more personal approach to these multi-purpose bracelets. Most of us love the idea of being able to customize our items to our liking. So much so, that many companies have begun to offer customers the ability to order customized wristbands online. Even though these wristbands are quite simplistic in nature, it doesn’t seem as though they’ll be disappearing anytime soon. In addition to advertising on bracelets, there are many other methods in which companies have used fashion to get their message across to the public. A few other clothing and accessory items that companies and individuals use to advertise are:

  • Lanyards
  • Hats
  • T-shirts

Utilizing items that have dual purposes, such as clothing or accessories, has proven to be an effective tool in marketing to the masses. T-shirt marketing is arguably one of the most powerful tools in advertising. The T-shirt is the perfect vessel in making cultural and political statements. According to Printsome Insights, there are various benefits to using t-shirts in a marketing campaign. Such as:

  • Versatile
  • Cost effective if you are ordering in bulk
  • Can potentially outlast the duration of the campaign or event
  • Can potentially appeal to a wider target audience

Whether it’s a souvenir t-shirt from your favorite bands’ finale concert or a wristband in your support of eradicating cancer, advertising with fashion has many faces. The use of clothing and accessories as a marketing tool to reach the masses is both powerful and beneficial.
